Cabs Are Here!

So, life has been a little boring here lately.  Not that I haven't been busy and stressed, but it's just been mostly work things, which are not fun!  So I've been lacking in the area of things to blog about.  I started thinking this morning about things that I'm loving and/or are thankful for right now.  The following, in no particular order, come to mind:

1.  Local Culture Frozen Yogurt

Starkville got a new frozen yogurt establishment back in the fall.  I had been to Yogurt Mountain in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, so when I heard we were getting a similar yogurt place, I was thrilled!  I love the variety of flavors and toppings they have, and the fact that you pay by how much it weighs!  Note:  the yogurt pictured is not mine.  I just swiped that pic from their facebook page.  Now that the Spring-like weather is here, it makes me want to visit LC almost every day. So far, my flavor favorite is mango sorbet.

2.  The fact that Spring Break will be here in 9 days!  I cannot tell you how ready I am for a break!  I, of course, have no exciting plans for the week.  Since most adults don't get Spring Break anymore, sadly, none of my friends have a week to spare in the middle of March for a beach trip.  Even so, I'm looking forward to a week of no work!

3.  The excitement of job searching.  Ok, not really.  I'm not really enjoying the process.  And being the "planner" that I am, I really do not like not knowing where I'll be and what I'll be doing a few months from now.  But it's still exciting knowing that new things could be right around the corner for me.  It's no secret that I'm looking to make a change.  I've had a successful interview (which was my first real job interview ever!) and have another one coming up next week.  I'm trusting that the Lord will lead me to where I need to go. And if that ends up being in Starkville for another year, then I'm ok with that too.

4.  I've been so thankful for good friends this week!  I had a rough few days dealing with some drama from a student and some other issues.  On Monday I felt like Alexander from "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day."

This was one of my favorite books as a child.  Alexander has a (you guessed it) really bad day where everything seemed to go wrong.  After each unfortunate event, he said he wanted to move to Australia.  By the time his day ended, he said "My mom says some days are just like that, even in Australia."  He's right, some days are just terrible.  But I was so glad to have good friends to give me encouragement and help me get through a rough couple of days.  I love you guys!

5.  The fact that some members of the Jersey Shore cast are coming to Starkville this month!

I love this show. I admit it.  I know that it's awful and it's not something to be proud of, but I love trashy "reality" tv.  The life of the JS cast is so drastically different from my life that I'm simply fascinated by it.  So the word is that several of the cast are coming to the State Theatre later this month.  I don't know which ones, but as long as Pauly D shows up, I'll be happy!

  1. Aw, love the pic friend. Hope your week has gotten better. And I've already told Joey I'm going to Starkville when the JS cast is there...he thought I was kidding. But I'm not.
